My Childhood Days

Trying to be scholarly with those huge glasses but turned out to look like a monkey!

 

Thought other kids usually fear water and cry if they were put in this situation... I muz be crazy to be laughing so happily not knowing the dangers of swimming without someone beside me! Say, is it the old photo's colour or the pools were just dirty in those days? :P

I was once a rich boy owning my own car...Where's my 'Karmann' car now? :P

This was taken at my old house in Kembangan. I can't recall how old I was when this photo was taken but don't I look snobbish? Hey, I'm not like that... It's the camera's fault! :P

 

Don't I look like one of those ancient scholars of China? I was plump rite?

 

Stop trying to pose like some celebrity trying to look cool with eyes away from the camera!

 

Still remember those days I had to learn the organ in kindergarten because I studied in Yamaha music school.. My dad had to buy me one to practice at home...

 

Must have been one of those happiest days in kindergarten.. Had the honour to wear a T-shirt unlike others who have to wear their uniform that day.. It was little Alvin's 5 year old birthday.. What's the teacher peeping at? Can't wait to have a piece of the cake? :P

 

A group of clowns after (or was it before?) their performance on stage... I'm the little rascal squatting down, 2nd from the left...

 

Finally it's graduation time after 3 years of nursery plus kindergarten (K1 and K2) in Yamaha... I wonder what's in that scroll? I'm the 3rd dude in the front row... :P

 

If I didn't remember wrongly, this must have been taken when my family went to Genting for the 1st (and last) time... I wonder why my head was tilted... Sprained neck? :P

 

This photo must be the best explanation why I liked hamsters as pets since I was a young boy till even now! The mice and rats at Genting put a spell on me! :P

It must have been Dad's or Mum's idea to get us cross our legs for this shot... Adults.. I wonder what's that for?.. :P

 

Trying to act like a doll in those things (ang pows?) on my hands... Must have been close to Chinese New Year!

 

I like this one... A Japanese version of little Alvin... cool...

 

Have I mentioned earlier I was a fan of Smurfs when I was young? I remembered the cartoons were on Sunday mornings and nothing could stop me from watching them with the little smurf soft toy in my hands... :)

 

This is anxious little Alvin before his swimming test.... Can't remember it was for Bronze or Silver. Anyway those pyjamas were needed in the test for 'making balloons to float'! Adults do have funny thinkings... Will someone drowning in the sea be wearing pyjamas? :P

 

Tired-looking little Alvin... Muz be tired after all those shots... :P

 

It's Ah Meng's honour to be able to take a picture with the cutey beside her.. :P Haha... it was taken at the Singapore Zoological Gardens on the 4th September 1988, which means I was only 10 years old then! How I can remember? The date was written on the polariod cover lah! :P

 

Happy little 10 year old Alvin in his Primary 4 school uniform.. His new little sister, Adele, was born earlier on and he finally got the licence from his mum to carry her for a picture!
