My Friends......

Benjamin, a friend of mine from Business School. He took the opportunity to go to Germany, University of Cologne, for his student exchange programme in his 2nd year. From the photos, it is obvious he must have been having lots of fun at the foam party and enjoying his new friends' company there! Now we've completed the gruelling study process and gotten our degrees! Three Cheers to our career!

Me and Cindy outside a cafe at One Fullerton after a birthday treat from another friend. Got to know her from another friend, Liling, when we were all in SAJC then. Got to know each other better over the years and now we're always going out together with our group of friends!

Dennis, one of my closest friends that I got to know when I just came into Business School, knowing no one in my Orientation Group. A real smart aleck who can argue almost everything and turn black into white. He's also in the Talent Development Programme (TDP) in the Faculty - a wise choice so that his talents don't go to waste. Heard he's currently working in Citibank! Keep it up Dennis!

Eugene was my classmate right from the 1st 3 month-course in SAJC till the end of our 'A' levels. A sporty guy with the basketball skills of Michael Jordan (?) & running speed and stamina of 'I-don't-know-who'. We played a fool throughout our lessons especially in our 1st year but still did rather well in the end...fortunately. He's completed his degree in the field of Environmental Engineering in NUS (although his ambition since young was to be a police officer). Hey dude! Keep the toilet bowls clean!

Fun Siong, the computer genius. Always the one who saves me from frustrations when my computer gives me headaches. Also a really great and wonderful friend to have to be there for anyone when the situation calls for it!

Harold, a friend whom I got to know only towards the end of his Army days. He's a signal sergeant from my unit and a rather jovial guy. Currently, he should have completed his degree in Architecture in Scotland and working towards being a famous architect!

Huifen, one of those friends where we can talk and laugh at almost anything under the sun! We knew each other from the same class from Secondary 2 to Secondary 4 before we separated when she pursued her college education in Catholic Junior College (Emerging one of the bests over there!). Nevertheless, we've always been keeping in contact and she's definitely one of my closest gal friends around! Currently, she's a Personal Financial Consultant (mine at least!) although she graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in NUS.

Jana, Guohui & Yen Yen. 3 of the girls who were the closest of my female friends in Business School. I knew Jana since our University orientation and we've been very close friends/schoolmates throughout our University days. She's currently an air stewardness in Singapore Airlines (SIA) and pursuing a higher degree in Accountancy.

I got to know Guohui because of one of Jana's birthday celebration held in a chalet. Thereafter, we took similar modules in the following semesters and worked in group projects together. Overtime, of course we got to know each other better and became better friends especially during the last 2 years of our Uni life. Now, she's working in Citibank in the Corporate Action Dept (I call it 'Corporate Midnight Action' - you can guess why..)..

Saw Yen Yen before early in my 1st year (she's one of my friend's friend) but never got to know her well. Coincidentally I took an Applied Statistics module and got to know another friend, Adrian, because we worked in pairs for a small project. Then I realised Yen Yen was his girlfriend... In the following semesters, we worked numerous times together in group projects and hence got closer. Since 2004, we've formed a small group and have been meeting monthly for activities such as Karaoke Singing and Mahjong!

Jinguan a.k.a. Anthony, a friend of mine in SAJC. We knew each other from being in the same ECA, i.e. Chinese Orchestra. He's a good drummer and he's very very tanned. Don't 'pray pray' ok! He's a Commando! No wonder! Just had his ROM and I'm awaiting his traditional wedding dinner end of 2005!

Liling, a good friend of mine since JC days in the same ECA - Chinese Orchestra. Although a generally serious and matured person in my opinion, she can still be very funloving when the situation calls for it! Now she's a very happy bride (this photo was taken after a tiring morning at ROM.. back at her husband's (Shunru) home).

Cindy, Lingying and Liling, the 3 'sisters'... Got to know Lingying also through ECA in SAJC and she played the cello then. She majored in English and Japanese in the Faculty of Arts, NUS. We gave her a nickname - 'Worm'... the reason being self-explanatory :P (dun hit me!). Now she's working in KDF (Kidney Dialysis Foundation) and doing meaningful work for kidney patients.. Kudos to you!

Peishi a.k.a. Nicole, a friend of mine since I was in Secondary 2. We knew each other because we joined the same ECA - Volleyball. We were very close friends during our secondary school days and still kept in contact sometimes when we were in different JCs (she was in Temasek JC and I was in St. Andrew's JC) and back in NUS. She graduated from Arts & Social Science and is currently working in HSBC (after moving on from OCBC and DBS). Good luck in your career!

Teck Koon, someone that cannot be taken lightly. His enthusiasim and attitude towards life and pursuing his education really amazes most people and I have to take my hat off. He's a very good writer, aided with his powerful command of English, and also a great analyst in things! After graduation, he joined the CAAS (Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore) and has recently moved to BOSCH.

Titanius, my 'upper-study' from the Army. Anyone would be surprised upon hearing this name because it is so unusual! He adopted this name due to his love for the movie - Titanic. A really nice guy to be with and he's working in a Dutch company that pays him well and subsidizes for lots of his spendings when he travels overseas frequentlyl... :P Gosh! I wish I can work in such a company!

Me and Titanius were photographed by Cindy outside a cafe at One Fullerton.

Winston, a friend and neighbour of mine ever since I moved to my new home (probably close to 15 years by now :P). We used to have fun when we were still in our Secondary school days and life was still quite free..., but now (sigh!)...Fortunately we still have spare time to catch up once in a while. Having a Diploma in Computer Science from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, he served his NS by contributing his computer knowledge & skills in one of the Army departments. Now happily attached and working as an IT Business Consultant in a private company .

Xingyan, a friend I knew after our BMT in 1997 when he got stuck in Nee Soon Camp due to screw-ups in administration and I was put out-of-course due to an injury. Both of us were really fated to have known each other and he gradually became part of the group after he came to NUS Science Faculty and I introduced him to Liling and Lingying when they took a Music module together in the Faculty of Arts & Social Science. Fate really brings people together! After graduation, he went through an enjoyable but busy time at the National Institute of Education (NIE), aspiring to be the next GTX (Great Teacher Xingyan)! And now, indeed he is the GTX in Chinese High!

Yinglai, one of my few friends from our neighbouring country, Malaysia. A very nice and accomodating guy - one of those few rare species on earth left. His 1st career was with Epson after completing his degree in Electrical Engineering in NUS. Have lost contact with him for some time but nevertheless still wish him all the best in his future endeavours!

Zhirong a.k.a. Roy, my friend since JC1 in SAJC because we're from the same class. A rather quiet and solemn person by nature but a person that one can talk to when the need arises! Currently, he's working as an administrative staff in an Institute of Technical Education (ITE). Best wishes in your career!
